The 4th Taolu World Cup was held from 4–9th July 2026 in Haikou, Hainan, China, hosted by the International Wushu Federation. Approximately 200 athletes from 29 countries and regions participated in the event.
Australia was represented by athletes Elizabeth Lim and Jessica Lim, who qualified through their performances at the 2025 World Wushu Championships in Brasília, Brazil. Competition events included the Women’s Nangun, Women’s Nandao and Women’s Duilian events. The Australian team delegation was led by coach Shihan Tan and team manager Kee Lee Tan.
The 2026 Taolu World Cup marked Australia’s first participation in the event. As the premier international competition for taolu, qualification represented a major achievement for the Australian team. The team achieved sixth place in the Women’s Duilian event.
In addition to the competition, the event provided opportunities for cultural exchange with athletes and officials from around the world and allowed the team to experience the history and culture of Haikou and Hainan Province. Australia’s inaugural participation in the Taolu World Cup was a successful experience and an important milestone in the continued development of Australian taolu on the international stage.
